Jose is a high-energy, hustle-first player who leaves everything on the court. He plays with speed, intensity, and a competitive fire that elevates his teammates. Defensively, Jose loves to jump passing lanes and get steals, using his quickness and anticipation to spark fast breaks and create instant offense. He embodies the mindset of heart over height, competing with toughness, grit, and confidence on every possession.
Jose is also the kind of player who lifts others up encouraging teammates, respecting opponents, and playing the game the right way. His favorite player is Allen Iverson, someone he looks up to for being a smaller guard with huge talent, swagger, and heart. Jose models that same spirit in the way he approaches the game.
Off the court, Jose is the only boy and the middle child in his family, something that has shaped his personality, perspective, and leadership. He loves spending quality time with his family, especially taking trips together to San Luis Obispo. The beach is one of his favorite places, he finds it calming, peaceful, and a chance to reset. Watching sunsets and appreciating life’s blessings is something he values deeply.
Jose also loves music, enjoys practicing piano, and cherishes the moments he gets to share with both family and friends. Growing up in a Mexican household, he was raised to understand the importance of hard work, respect, and grit. Those values show in everything he does—his effort, his attitude, and his drive to succeed.
Most importantly, Jose works to make his family proud. He wants to give back to his parents for everything they’ve sacrificed and to honor the opportunities they’ve given him.
